The Motive Vol.4 at Ocha Nyama East, Park Mall

Stay Woke Entertainment, a Zambian youth-led initiative, hosted the fourth edition of The Motive from at Ocha Nyama by Marlin, located at East Park Mall in Lusaka. Breaking away from tradition, The Motive kicked off with a Guided Paint and Sip session from 1 PM to 4 PM, supported by Kassie Arts. The event’s ambiance was enhanced with good music, food, and beverages, setting the perfect atmosphere for what The Motive has come to represent: a vibrant pillar of Lusaka’s youth culture.

From 4 PM to 10 PM, the infectious chant of “What’s the Motive?” introduced the event’s host, Ivy Milarz, who amped up the crowd and maintained the vibe throughout the night. The event featured a variety of music genres, from an Amapiano set performed by Shxwnzee Thee DeeJay, to Afrobeats, followed by RnB and classic Hip-Hop sets by DJ M&Ms.

True to The Motive’s high standards, performances from Zambian artists Switcherooooo, Tale Sheezy, and Bacci—along with guest acts Iwa Doro and Gun House ZM—electrified Ocha Nyama by Marlin, raising the energy levels far beyond the venue’s expected limits.

Since its inception, The Motive has consistently proven successful, building on the momentum from other popular Stay Woke Entertainment events such as Inside Out and Float Zone, both organised by founder Tee The Gee, also known as Mr. Woke.

In addition to the exhilarating performances and sets, the organisers took great care to ensure that the event was conducted with decorum and safety in mind. A clear etiquette of dos and don’ts was established, which contributed to a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. From crowd management to ensuring that the vibe remained positive and respectful, The Motive Volume Four upheld the highest standards, further solidifying its reputation as a top-tier event in Lusaka’s entertainment scene.

Volume Four of The Motive delivered an unforgettable, spirit-filled night, solidifying its place as a cherished event for local creatives, thanks to Stay Woke Entertainment's commitment to fostering a sense of community.
