JamTree Events, a dynamic event planning and management company, hosted their first-ever Mzansi Experience at Taboo, The Forbidden Island in Roma, Lusaka. The event, headlined by renowned South African producer and DJ, DJ Stokie, brought Amapiano lovers together from 4 pm until late, transforming the venue into a haven of groove and good vibes.
An Unforgettable Groove
The Forbidden Island, located on Zambezi Road, became the epicentre of Amapiano music, thanks to JamTree Events' commitment to delivering an authentic South African groove experience. The night kicked off with electrifying performances from Taboo’s resident DJs, including DJ Hassan and DJ Mumu. Setting the tone for the evening, the local talents seamlessly transitioned from one beat to the next, warming up the crowd.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, DJ Floyd Zambia brought a unique twist with a skilled blend of RnB and Pop, while the multifaceted host, Paul Da Prince, kept the energy high with a mix of Zed music and snippets of South African and Western Hip-Hop. His signature groove chants had the crowd fully engaged, building anticipation for the main act.
Building to the Main Event
As the night reached its peak, Sebastien Dutch—an EDM DJ and one half of the DJ duo Manssa—drew the crowd closer to the decks. He was followed by DJ Clap, setting the stage for the highly anticipated Superstar DJ Hussein. The all-male lineup delivered an unforgettable show, leading up to the main act: DJ Stokie, affectionately known as “The Kasi Hero.”
A Night to Remember
With the drinks chilled and the crowd buzzing, Flying Fish Zambia kept the vibe going with free samples, adding to the lively atmosphere. Music—one of the three universal languages—transcended linguistic barriers as Amapiano beats pulsed through the night.
DJ Stokie’s set was nothing short of spectacular. He performed a captivating mix of exclusive and private school Amapiano, featuring hits like "Amainternational," "Superman," "Ipiano E'Soweto," "Awukhuzeki," "Selimathunzi," and "Masithokoze". Fans sang along enthusiastically, celebrating the iconic tracks from his albums "My Journey Continues" and "Immortal". The legendary DJ owned the night, cementing his status as both a township and international hero.
