Gin In Spring: 1964 Craft Gin at The Quorum

As the jacarandas bloom in vibrant purple hues, spring arrives with a refreshing call to enjoy a gin in hand at The Quorum’s renowned Mafinga Peak rooftop restaurant and bar. Perched high above the city, this exclusive venue provided the perfect backdrop for a seasonal celebration marked by sophistication and heritage.

In a year of monumental significance for Zambia, The Quorum proudly partnered with the country’s first locally crafted gin, 1964 Craft Gin, to host the third edition of Gin in Spring. This signature event not only showcased exceptional flavours but also commemorated Zambia’s 60 years of independence—a milestone woven into every aspect of the experience.

The festivities began at 2 PM and continued well into the night. The program opened with an impeccable live performance by the talented Ben, whose soulful voice captivated the audience. As the day unfolded, the atmosphere intensified with an electrifying Afro-house set presented by international superstar DJ Switcher. Not to be outdone, Zambia’s adored DJ duo, Kreative Natives, took to the stage, delivering an unforgettable set that had the crowd dancing in anticipation. Their performance perfectly set the tone for the evening’s headliner, El Mukuka—an international DJ, music producer, and co-founder of 1964 Craft Gin—whose set left an indelible mark on the night.

The event, themed “floral fresh and garden chic,” provided a visual feast, with guests adorned in elegant, nature-inspired attire. The ambiance was a lush celebration of spring, complete with floral arrangements and garden décor that set the tone for a luxurious yet laid-back experience. Attendees were treated to an exquisite variety of chilled cocktails, each crafted with 1964 Craft Gin, highlighting the gin’s crisp, botanical notes. These drinks were perfectly complemented by an array of gourmet dishes, meticulously curated to enhance the flavours of the gin.

Beyond the festivities, the collaboration between The Quorum and 1964 Craft Gin held a deeper meaning. The Quorum, known for its exclusive and ultramodern status as Zambia’s premier members’ club, joined forces with the spirit of freedom embodied by 1964 Craft Gin. Together, they offered a retrospective stance on Zambia’s rich history, using this platform to honour peace and unity as the country reflects on six decades of independence.

As Zambia’s first premium gin, 1964 Craft Gin celebrates the nation’s legacy and symbolises a commitment to fostering a spirit of freedom and innovation. Meanwhile, The Quorum continues to serve as a hub for business connectivity, providing a space where leaders and entrepreneurs can collaborate to drive progress and prosperity for the nation. Through Gin in Spring, both The Quorum and 1964 Craft Gin reaffirm their dedication to celebrating Zambia’s heritage while looking ahead to a future of unity, growth, and shared success.
