Getting There

AIR

Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN)

The primary gateway to Lusaka is Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN), located about 27 kilometres northeast of the city centre.

International Flights
Lusaka is well-connected to major cities across the globe. Airlines such as Ethiopian Airlines, South African Airways, Emirates and Qatar Airways operate international flights to and from Lusaka.

Domestic Flights
Domestic flights connect Lusaka with other cities within Zambia. Proflight Zambia and Zambian Airways are among the local carriers that operate domestic routes.

ROAD

Self-Drive

If you prefer flexibility and have an adventurous spirit, you can opt for a self-drive option. Zambia has a relatively well-maintained road network, and driving to Lusaka allows you to explore the beautiful landscapes along the way.

Long-Distance Buses
Lusaka is accessible by road from various neighbouring countries. Long-distance buses provide an affordable and scenic way to reach the city. Popular routes include connections from cities like Harare (Zimbabwe), Lilongwe (Malawi), and Windhoek (Namibia).

RAIL

Rail travel is another option, although the rail network may not be as extensive as road networks. TAZARA (Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority) operates a train service connecting Lusaka with Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. The journey offers a unique perspective on the changing landscapes as you travel by rail.
